RORY O’DONNELL

B.Sc . Ph.Th. M.I.A.P.T

A registrant on the CORU register of Physiotherapists Rory is also a member of the Irish Association of Physical Therapists (I.A.P.T.) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Health Science and a Diploma in Physical Therapy from the Institute of Physical Therapy.

Having worked in Dublin for a number of years, in 2013 Rory returned to his native Limerick to set up his Physical Therapy clinic in Annacotty. Over the years he has worked with a wide range of clients, from the elite sports person to the self-confessed couch potato and most in-between.

With a strong sporting background Rory has always been fascinated by injury prevention and rehabilitation and using an evidence-based approach he enjoys working closely with his clients to get to the root cause of their pain or discomfort.

Through continued professional development and education, Rory strives to provide his clients with the most up-to-date scientific evidence-based diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation available.

CORU is Ireland’s multi-profession health regulator.

CORU is Ireland’s multi-profession health regulator. CORU was set up under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended). It is made up of the Health and Social Care Professionals Council and the Registration Boards, one for each profession named in their Act. CORU's role is to protect the public by promoting high standards of professional conduct, education, training and competence through statutory registration of health and social care professionals.

To regulate the professions, CORU will:

  • Set the standards that health and social care professionals must meet
  • Ensure that the relevant educational bodies deliver qualifications that prepare professionals to provide safe and appropriate care
  • Maintain and publish a Register of health and social care professionals who meet our standards
  • Ensure that registered professionals keep their skills up to date by promoting continuing professional development
  • Run Fitness to Practise hearings into the conduct and competence of a registrant

About the I.A.P.T;

Irish Association of Physical Therapists: The Irish Association of Physical Therapists (I.A.P.T.) was established as the Professional Body ensuring excellence in the field of musculoskeletal health.

The I.A.P.T represents its members who practice Physical Therapy throughout Ireland.

All treatments performed by I.A.P.T. members adhere to the guidelines of the I.A.P.T.: ensuring the integrity of our clients and their well-being and wishes, is of the utmost importance at all times.

All members of the I.A.P.T. meet and adhere to the strict criteria and standards set down by the Association. The I.A.P.T. places great emphasis on its duty to regulate the professional and ethical standards to it members and provides the highest standard of care to clients.

I.A.P.T. members are regulated by an independent professional association.
